Create a Staff Costs Application

In this activity, you’re an FP&A Manager in charge of reporting and forecasting staff costs. This scenario focuses only on the existing employee list and considers their start and end dates. You have a Workday extract with details on all your employees as a data source. Note that:

• Staff costs = Salary + Taxes + Bonus
• amounts are in local currency

To start, you will:

• Calculate the monthly FTE 
• Calculate the monthly Salary in euros €

• Set up your calendar for the year 2017-2024 with Months, Quarters, Years
• Enable differentiating between Actuals and Forecast data

• Import Workday Data as “Employees” in CSV format
• Create dimensions from import including: Name, Country, Gender, Cost center, Position
• Pull in data for: Hire date (!), Term Date (!), Annual bonus, Annual taxes, Local based salary
• Map Currency as a property to Country
• Add your Fx Rate to the Currency Dimension List
